Managing Stress & Reducing Burnout

2217171139The stress you feel is never-ending.

You’re tired all the time. No matter how much rest you get, you wake up still feeling exhausted.

Life feels so dull, and it can feel hopeless that things will get better. Still, you get everything done, but wonder how you will do this for another couple of decades – up until retirement. You realize you still have more than half your life to live, and you cannot keep living this way.

On the outside, everyone thinks you have it together because you’ve accomplished so much, and your friends and family are proud of you and look up to you.

But under the surface, you feel burned out and struggle to stay afloat.

Going it alone is getting you nowhere.

Reading recommended self-help books and listening to podcasts aren’t making things better. The information makes sense as you read and listen, but the application is difficult.

No amount of self-care has helped either.

The Pilates and spin classes, binging a Netflix series, and leisure reads aren’t enough – none of these distractions is cutting it.

Pushing yourself to the limit is a norm, and you feel obligated to continue because you don’t want to let yourself and others down.

Feeling stress and burnout persists.

Life isn’t getting better for you. Those ‘treat yourself’ days filled with coffee, good food, a yoga session, and hanging out with your loved ones haven’t warded off those feelings.

You constantly engage in short-term gratification because the things that may bring you long-term gratification feel out of reach.

It isn’t about engaging in activities that will reduce your burnout, and while that does help, more needs to be done.
